With roots embedded in the genres of Jazz, Hip Hop, and R&B, this Chicago native, singer-songwriter Nia is able to style an exclusive sound that unites them into an enchanting rhythm of reverberation. MC Lyte, Lupe Fiasco, Roy Ayes, and Chico DeBarge are just a few well-known figures in music that she has been placed on a bill with. She also has had collaborations with ZZAJÉ, a twelve piece band also hailing from Chicago.

Being blessed with a God given talent, she has hopes of her voice becoming more mainstream with the desire of bringing “fresh air” in to a well polluted industry. When she performs she wants the audience to be left with something that lingers on well after the music ends. That is sure to happen as she also incorporates acting and dancing in her performances.

Nia has a yearning to present herself outside of music. She is currently embarking further into entrepreneurship as she is preparing to launch a line of fashion accessories cleverly labeled, Necessories by Nia. It is another element of her that is to debut before the end of 2011.

FM blog was given the chance to catch up with Nia in a pleasant interview that incites and motivates.
